Originally from a small town west of Houston, Texas, Allison Hess (b. 1993) became interested in photography while studying journalism at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is currently living near Houston, Texas and working as a freelance photographer, as well as with FotoFest International as an exhibition/communications intern.

She strives to produce photographs that challenge an individual’s perceptions of situations or topics. Through her stories, she hopes that people find what they might have in common with others, rather than what might set us apart.
